HT Group enriches the 16th Applied Biosafety Meeting of Swiss Biosafety Network (SBNet)

The Swiss Biosafety Network (SBNet) is an independent and national organization for biosafety and biosecurity professionals including engineering and maintenance staff. The 16th Applied Biosafety Meeting took place in Geneva on 25th/26th of August 2022.       

After two years as a virtual conference only, the organization committee realized the 16th meeting as s “face-to-face” event in the University of Geneva.
For two days around 150 visitors followed the technical presentations, visited the various booths of the exhibitors and discussed current trends in biosafety and biosecurity with one another.        

The HT Group was also represented as a speaker with a technical presentation on the normative background of containments. Claus Schweinheim, managing director of HT Lab Tec GmbH, explains the difference between a dynamic containment and a static containment and their dependency. Based on successful projects of the HT Group, he showed how laboratories were realized in the BSL-3 area. For Switzerland, he was able to establish a direct link to the current recommendations on structural and technical safety measures in BSL-3 laboratories from the Federal Expert Commission for Biological Safety (EFBS).

The presentation aroused such great interest among the participants, so that Cristiano Benini, HT Health Tec Swiss AG and Claus Schweinheim subsequently provided detailed information about the modern possibilities in extensive individual discussions.
